Do I need twitter: tags if I have Open Graph tags?
Mostly no: X falls back to og:title, og:description and og:image. Add twitter:card to choose the large image style.
Why was the official validator removed?
X removed its Card Validator; this preview shows the same fallbacks X applies.
Which pages can it read?
Public web pages that return HTML. Pages that need a login, private network addresses and pages built entirely with JavaScript can't be read.
