Frequently asked questions
Which YouTube links work?
Standard watch links (youtube.com/watch?v=…) and youtu.be short links for public videos. Shorts and playlists have their own tools.
Why can't I download some videos?
Private, members-only, age-restricted and live videos need an account or aren't finished yet, so we can't download them. Very long videos are also refused.
Why is the highest quality capped at 1080p?
Larger files take much longer to fetch and merge on our servers. 1080p covers nearly every use.
Is it legal to download YouTube videos?
Only download videos you own, that are licensed for reuse, or that you have permission to save. Respect creators and YouTube's terms.
Do you keep a copy of my video?
No. Files live in temporary storage only while your request runs and are deleted right after the download, or automatically if something goes wrong.
