Frequently asked questions
Why is there no transcript for my video?
The uploader turned captions off, or YouTube has not generated automatic captions yet. This is common for very new uploads and for videos without speech.
How accurate is it?
Uploaded subtitles are as accurate as the uploader made them. Auto-generated captions come from YouTube's speech recognition and can misread names and technical terms.
Can I get the transcript translated?
Not here. This tool saves the tracks the video actually has. Paste the text into a translator for other languages.
What does the timestamped version look like?
Each line starts with the time it is spoken, for example [1:05], so you can jump to that moment in the video.
